Roll up, roll up! Have we got a treat for you! We’ve found some cracking summer events for you and the family in Gloucestershire - with 19 in Gloucester and 19 in Cheltenham, so far! Fingers crossed we’re set for some summer fun in the sun, but best bring the brollies in case of a downpour on those BBQ’s! We warn you, this article is bigger than a bouncy castle! Come one, come all, to the greatest show on earth! The Lakeside Summer Circus is arriving in town for one day only, with the 'Circus Sensible' team putting on a really exciting show in the Big Top! The circus will incorporate the most popular elements from usual fairs; bouncy castles, circus cups, cakes, bottle tombola and teddy tombola, raffle, stalls and games! The James Hopkins Trust's annual Summer Fete takes place at the lovely centre and sensory gardens this year; this being the only occasion that the centre and gardens is opened up to the public. It’s an incredibly popular event with hundreds of visitors, families, children, the local community, as well as regional business and corporate supporters. A festival with a difference is coming to Sudeley Castle, which organisers promise will be like ‘dreaming with your eyes open’! The event will see a host of costumed characters from around the world visit for a weekend of music, fantasy, entertainment and wonder. Visitors are invited to don their favourite costume to join the event and mingle alongside a host of characters, from fairies, pirates and Vikings, to Storm troopers, knights and elves. Throughout the weekend a host of other entertainment and activities will be on offer, including costume competitions, dancing workshops, children’s entertainers, archery, viking and medieval reenactment, a Wicker Man ceremony, food stalls, traders and much more! The free to enter three-day culinary extravaganza that is the Gloucester Food Festival takes place from Friday 26th - Sunday 28th July at Gloucester Quays. There will be free live cookery demonstrations, live music, book signings and a chance to sample gastronomic treats from across the region and beyond with 120 stalls on offer across the weekend! What better way to celebrate summer than bringing your pooches and human friends along to the Prosecco and Pooch Garden Party! There will be fabulous animal friendly suppliers, including doggy treats, grooming, accessories and more. Obstacle courses throughout the day and paddling pools for your pooches will keep doggies happy and entertained! The UK’s Biggest Cider Festival returns to Brockworth - the 'must attend' music festival with every cider you can imagine! The event has grown to become a firm fixture on the music festival calendar, with 10,000 attendees over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
