Here in Blighty we do love our mid-summer festivities - homemade jams, sticky fingers, painted faces and The Music Man! What's not to love about a summer fete? Low cost fun for all the family. And we've got a load of them going on right on our doorstep.

June

Sacred Hearts Summer Fete is kicking off a season of family fiesta fun. Come along and enjoy child-friendly entertainment including a merry-go-round, a bouncy castle, live music, games, stalls and plenty of food and refreshments to satisfy those hungry tummies (and that’s just the grown ups)! The Bishops Cleeve Street Fair returns - hooray! And this time to celebrate RAF100. Expect a street party packed with stalls, live entertainment, a raffle, fairground rides and impressive displays! The Royal Oak Street Fair is joining in the summer celebrations, offering a selection of ciders, cocktails and slushies alike. The bar will be selling traditional ale for grown ups and fizzy refreshments for kids, with the food stall selling hot beef, gammon rolls and yorkshire puddings (with meat and gravy). Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival is back for 2018; celebrating all things food, wine and champagne. As well as the usual food festivities, there will be an exciting range of entertainment on offer for young and old, including music from The Ukeholics, The Hawthornes, Ofelia, The Scruff Club and The Shaggy Dog Raconteurs. There's lots to keep the children busy (when not sampling the great food on offer), such as sing-a-long music from The Music Man, a Punch & Judy show, face painting and live street theatre.

Your festival ticket also includes free admission to Chef Cookery Theatre, Food Lovers Marquees, Real Ale & Cider Marquee, the Festival Music Stage and International Wine Theatre. Friday 15th - Sunday 17th of June, adult entry prices vary, children under 16 free. Find out more.


Whittington House is hosting their annual Whittington Summer Fair - and we’re invited! Enjoy some delicious food from the BBQ with light refreshments, shop from product stalls on the grounds and enjoy live entertainment in the beautiful surrounding woodland area! Prestbury Village Fayre & Street Party promises to pack a sandwich or two! Rock up to enjoy a variety of entertainment catering to all, including the children’s fancy dress parade, a bouncy castle, music from a live ukulele group and a brass band, belly dancers and the popular ‘Prestburys Got Talent’. Why not grab yourself some raffle tickets while you're there - at £1 each it’s a steal! Festival of Stars is a free summer celebration for everyone. The special stage will showcase the talents of local musicians, singers, comedians, storytellers, children, drummers, jazz bands and choirs from local schools! The open mic sessions beckon YOU to have a go, so nothing can stand in the way of you being a 'shining star’ for the day – not disability, not race, beliefs, age or background! Lakeside Primary School PTA invites you to the jungle themed Lakeside Summer Fair. The afternoon of fun includes face painting, a treasure hunt, a visit from Critter Encounters, a bouncy castle, games, a tombola and a raffle. Stop by the yummy cake stall for refreshments, and as all money raised goes to the school, why not buy out the Victoria Sponge?! Saturday 23rd June from 1pm - 3:30pm, adults £1 and children go free. The popular Charlton Kings Summer Fete returns for its sixth year running. Come and enjoy a family day out with fun at the fairground, tasty treats and refreshments from the traditional-style stalls, entertainment and bell ringing. Saturday 23rd June, 1pm - 5pm. Find out more.


We're looking forward to a day of stunning weather at Naunton Park Summer Fair, with an electric atmosphere to rival a large-scale festival. Expect good food, a well-stocked summer bar and the obligatory Pimms stand. Cheltenham's Midsummer Fiesta returns for a (fingers crossed) beautiful summer’s day for everyone to enjoy. Showcasing the fantastic talents of our diverse local communities with a multitude of free activities, from charity stalls to music and dance. Previous years have seen some of the best local bands take to the stage and entertain thousands of visitors, along with choirs, theatre productions, dance groups, a Gamelan orchestra and Tibetan Monks! Christ Church's Summer Fete brings the community together to celebrate Summer, whilst offering the opportunity to enjoy traditional afternoon teas, live entertainment, children's activities and family fun! The eclectic Cotswold Summer Market returns to support local and small businesses this summer, with over 70 stalls including food, drink, handmade, craft and vintage. August

The Brewery Quarter Summer Jam Festival returns for its third year, enjoy a two-day celebration of music, food and drink, including a host of local performers and DJ’s on the Summer Jam stage throughout the weekend! The Brewery Quarter bars and restaurants will also be offering a special outdoor bar service, with tasty street food, fun competitions, exciting games and more! Confirmed acts include The Strays and Subduction Fan Page, along with DJ sets from Lakefest Official. Did we mention the Summer Jam is a FREE event and open to all ages?! The amazing Cheese and Chilli Festival is the only one of its kind in the UK and we've got it right here in Cheltenham. It's not all just cheese and chilli - there’s something for everyone at the family-friendly festival, with free activities for children and adults, plus fun rides and games.

To complement the party, there's a dedicated stage area with live music from local acts, as well as face painting, inflatables and children’s fun rides. Expect free food and wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, a taste tent, a chilli eating competition and a ‘Man V Food’ challenge! Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th August, 10am - 5pm daily. The Gloucestershire Family Fun Day is a jam-packed event full of family-fun, in support of regional charity partners Gloucestershire Young Carers and Newlands Park. This exciting event has something for the whole family to enjoy, including helicopter rides, dinosaurs, familiar famous characters, a land train, a zip wire, go karting, an animal zone, live music, locally sourced food and much, much more!
