Take a short drive from Cheltenham out towards Cowley and you’ll get to The Green Dragon, a traditional country pub that’s brimming with charm. Think beamed ceilings and stone flagged floors, roaring fires in winter and outside space for sunny days. One of the oldest pubs in Cheltenham, The Beaufort Arms had an extensive refurbishment before reopening in 2020 and now boasts a stunning interior and welcoming atmosphere that includes bringing along your four-legged friend. The pub is known for its Sunday roasts but also serves up delicious small plates that are perfect paired with a glass or two of wine.

If you’re looking for somewhere to get a drink after a dog walk in Lineover Wood or Dowdeswell Reservoir or just fancy an evening out with your pooch in tow, head to Dunkertons.
