Cheltenham Rocks

Christmas Appeal - with Cheltenham Borough Homes

This December we are working with Cheltenham Borough Homes on two vital campaigns to help the isolated, vulnerable and those living in hardship locally.

Since 2017 followers of Cheltenham Rocks have bought over 400 presents for local youngsters who may otherwise have had nothing at Christmas.

In 2019 we need your help again - and this year there are a few ways to lend your support -

1. Buy a Christmas gift or meal for a family in Cheltenham

HELP2 is a project helping to meet the basic needs of Cheltenham Borough Homes tenants living in financial hardship, social isolation or who have been experiencing tough circumstances. This Christmas the project will be providing those tenants who have been working with vital support services everything they need for Christmas day including food, gifts and more.

Everything provided is donated by colleagues, partners and YOU!

How to donate:

GIFTS If you would like to buy a gift for a child, please email Clare at help2@cbh.org and she will give you the name and age of a local youngster to buy for. This can then be dropped off at either of the addresses below. Gifts can be wrapped or unwrapped just clearly marked with name and age

FOOD Please take any donations to either of the addresses below

Gift and Food Donations to:

Oakley Community Resource Centre, 113 Clyde Cres, Cheltenham GL52 5QJ
or
Hesters Way Community Resource Centre, Cassin Dr, Cheltenham GL51 7SU

The CBH Christmas Appeal is so much more than giving a present - you are showing someone they're not alone.

Donations before 20th December please

2. Winter Coats

Do you have any outgrown or preloved coats you could donate to vulnerable children and adults in Cheltenham this winter?

#keepcheltwarm is a Cheltenham Borough Homes campaign to help us keep vulnerable children and adults warm this winter by donating a coat! They want to collect new and unwanted coats and give them to those in need within the communities in and around Cheltenham. Any coats left over will be given to charities that support homelessness, refugees, children living in poverty and people fleeing domestic violence.

To ensure these coats reach those in most need we will be encouraging collection from our own support services, charities partners and beneficiaries such as community centres, schools and churches. These have been chosen based on proximity and predetermined need and therefore can confidently confirm they will reach Cheltenham’s most vulnerable people. This also enables us to encourage engagement with services that can help people out of poverty and create lasting change.
So far we have distributed to GADAS, Stroud Valley Project, Family Space, P3 and many more.

Please take your winter coats to: John Lewis, Travis Perkins, Tesco (Gloucester Road) or to CBH at Oakley Community Resource Centre or Hesters Way Community Resource Centre.

Donations before 20th December please
