Sandford Park

With a large play area for kids, lots of open space and beautiful flower beds, Sandford Park is one of Cheltenham's lesser known treasures.

It begins in Cheltenham town centre, running from the High Street to Keynsham Road.

From Cheltenham Borough Council

Sandford Park is well used by many as a pleasant route to work, or for quiet lunch breaks in the sun. The recreational side of the park, across College Road and adjacent to Sandford lido, is popular for picnics and games, and also has a large play area and toilets. The ornamental side of the park is divided into three sections. The main part houses a fountain with seating, landscaped beds, and stunning flower displays in the summer months.

A meandering path leads to the restful cascade pools and the River Chelt. The cascades are a popular training ground for ducklings in the springtime and if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of a local kingfisher! The Annecy Gardens, named after one of Cheltenham's twin towns, are to the north side of the park, and the Italian Gardens, complete with sunken pool and fountains, lie to the west.

🌳 Sandford Park Play Area 🌳 Sandford Park Play Area is best suited for toddlers to juniors, with equipment, picnic benches and a concrete play zone enclosed within the play area. There are toilets accessible at the back. On street parking GL50 1DZ Exploring the rest of the park is lots of fun, look out for an edible garden, fountains, and with the River Chelt running alongside, there's plenty of wildlife to be spotted. For refreshments, one entrance of the park is at the Strand end of the High Street, or the Meadow Cafe is a 5 minute walk towards London Road (GL53 7FF) #cheltenham #sandfordpark #gloucestershire #playarea
