What is the Immersive Room?

The immersive reality room uses floor-to-ceiling digital projections to create fully interactive environments that surround visitors on all sides.

Children can become part of the story, interact with digital content and experience learning in a highly visual and engaging way.

The space has been designed to support literacy development, creativity and imagination while making learning feel like play.

Experiences vary throughout the year and may include storytelling sessions, educational environments, digital exhibitions and community-led projects.

A Resource for Home Educators

Oakley Library's vision includes supporting Gloucestershire’s growing home education community by providing free facilities, training opportunities and literacy-focused learning experiences.

The immersive space is designed to be a flexible community resource that can support a wide variety of educational activities and workshops.

Reading Garden and Community Projects

The wider project also includes plans for a community-created Reading Garden alongside programmes focused on reading development, technology skills and creative learning.
