Cleeve Hill - Washpool

Parks & Walks

We explored a different area of Cleeve Hill recently. The way the light hit the hills made me feel like we were in the Lake District. Definitely a new favourite walk for the kids!

Parking? Use the usual Cleeve Hill car park. It's just past the golf club car park, on the left hand side.

Route? Use the information board at the car park exit to check your route, but in simple terms, we headed right out of the car park and followed the footpath down into the valley. Don't go over the stile near the stone building, take a right here instead. Just after the wash-pool, we forked right and climbed the hill to get back on to the main footpath (near the masts).

You will meet lots of furry cows (they couldn't care less that we were there and stayed well away from us).

Buggy friendly? If the paths are dry, an off road buggy would cope down to the wash-pool and back up the way you came, but if you're planning a circular route, a baby carrier would be best for the uphill section.
