Crickley Hill Cafe Spring Activities

The sun is out, the air is clear, birds are singing, spring must be near! What better way to enjoy our glorious neck of the woods than with a hill climb and visit to Crickley Hill cafe!

There’s a host of child-friendly, family activities in store for visitors to the cafe, and as soon as doors open early birds can enjoy a range of self-led, nature-themed crafts, including seed-bomb and spring bonnet making.

‘The idea behind these activities is that whilst Crickley Hill café is open, families can turn up at a time that suits them and there will be instructions available for a certain activity, meaning that they can take it completely at their own pace and at a time of the day that suits them.’ Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust

Upcoming Events:

Seed bombs

Thursday 1st - Friday 16th March

For a fun and quick way of planting wildflowers in your garden, use clay, soil and wildflower seeds to make a seed bomb. Follow the instruction sheet to create your bomb and then once dry, plant it in your garden and watch the flowers grow! Find out more.

Newspaper Pots

Saturday 17th - Friday 30th March

Make your own eco-friendly plant pots out of newspaper and then plant your wildflower seeds using the provided instructions as a guide. Once the plant starts to grow, you’ll be able to plant it straight into your garden – the newspaper pot will decompose in the soil! Find out more.

Easter Wildlife Trail

Friday 30th March - Sunday 15th April

Pick up your trail sheet from the Crickley Hill café and follow the Easter-themed trail around Crickley Hill. Answer egg-themed questions such as ‘whose egg is this?’ Find out more.

Scavenger Hunt & Spring Bonnet Making

Monday 16th - Monday 30th April

Using the scavenger hunt checklist, hunt around Crickley Hill and collect objects such as twigs, leaves, and feathers. Let your imagination run wild and use these items to create a spring bonnet, wildlife crown or headdress. Find out more.

All equipment will be provided and the cost of the activities ranges from £1 to £3 per child.

Come along to the café to take part in these lovely activities from 8am - 5pm (between 1st March and 1st April), then from 8am - 6pm during spring / summer months (between 1st April and 30th June).
