Artist and course leader in Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire Kim Hall, introduces you to the styles and techniques of The Bloomsbury group artists through a hands-on creative workshop. You will receive a length of linen fabric which you will plan to paint by hand to take away with you for use on a future project of your choice.

To get your creative juices flowing, our visual arts curator Emalee Beddoes will be taking you on a tour of our exhibition Radev – an exhibition of world-class painting that tells an extraordinary story of twentieth century art and modern love through the collection of post-war Bulgarian migrant Mattei Radev and featuring key works by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. You will have the opportunity to make notes, sketch and photograph the exhibition while gaining an insight in to the radical interiors of Charleston House.

With guidance and assistance from Kim, you will hand paint your own Charleston inspired design onto your length of fabric, taking home an original artwork for you to utilise in a variety of future projects.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities. Anyone attending under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
