Plock Court, Longford
Time: Flexible
Pushchair friendly? Yes
From Gem Polson:
Plock court Longford has a beautiful wildflower field that is full of colour. Walking through the thousands of poppies and other wild flowers is picture perfect for those family photo moments to treasure.
We drove there from Bishops Cleeve and it took around 25 minutes. The car park is free and it’s right next to the fields so not far to walk. The walk is buggy friendly and also we saw people walking dogs through the field.
The poppy field is a large space to enjoy ball games and enjoy a peaceful picnic in the beautiful surroundings. We liked letting the children have the freedom of a run around.
There’s also a lake in the fist field with a fence around and we took a bucket to try catch some tadpoles and we were lucky enough to spot a few. The children enjoyed the experience and we careful put them back in the water.

Wotton Brook runs through the park and provides an interesting feature for wildlife and amenity. There are a number of mature trees that have been worthy of having tree preservation orders placed on them.
In 2010 a large wetland area was developed, to increase wildlife on the site, and also to act as a flood prevention scheme for the surrounding area. This has proven hugely beneficial to the site, attracting many insects, damselflies, dragonflies, birds and animals.
