Alan Wakefield, will be hosting the festival in memory of his late wife Angie - with all money raised going to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice who supported Angie in her final days.
Alan, who has been involved with the Cotswold Civil Service Club - the event venue - for more than 40 years, said: “We were so close to getting GingeFest off the ground last year, but another lockdown hit, and sadly we had to cancel. It’s also five year’s since Angie died so for both those reasons, we really want to make sure this year is more enjoyable than ever, whilst raising even more money for our local hospice.” Angie sadly died from cancer in 2017, and since, Alan and his daughter, plus their friends and family have been committed to raising funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice who in the words of Alan “were phenomenal in their care of my Angie”. Even after the pandemic hit, they weren’t deterred and found other ways to support the charity (where restrictions allowed), including: hosting a Boxing Day charity football match in 2020 and Gingeoween, a Halloween themed family fun fundraiser in 2021.
