The Junior Aquathlon & Triathlon at Sandford Parks Lido on Saturday 28th May 7:30am-12pm.

The Pied Piper Junior Aquathlon and Triathlon (with Harrison Clark Rickerbys) is a fun sporting challenge for children, which raises funds for two charities. The Aquathlon comprises of a swim in the heated main pool of the Lido followed by a run around Sandford Park and the Triathlon includes an addition cycle section in the middle. The event is managed in partnership with Sandford Lido Ltd (Registered charity #1052203) and Pied Piper Appeal (Registered charity #1011611).

Age categories and distances (Age category shall be determined by age at 31 December in the year of competition in line with British Triathlon rules) 

Examples of age category – 

a) A child who is currently 7 but turns 8 between the event and December is able to compete in Tristar Start group. 

b) A child who is 10 but turns 11 between the event and December would compete in Tristar 2 group. 

AQUATHLON: 

Tristar Start (Age 8) – 54m swim, 400m run 

Tristar 1 (Age 9-10) – 100m swim, 1.3km run 

Tristar 2 (Age 11-12) – 200m swim, 1.9km run 

Tristar 3 (Age 13-14) – 300m swim, 2.5km run 

Youth (Age 15-16) – 400m swim, 3.1km run 

TRIATHLON: 

Tristar 1 (Age 9-10) – 100m swim, 1.5km bike, 1km run 

Tristar 2 (Age 11-12) – 200m swim, 3km bike, 1.5km run 

Tristar 3 (Age 13-14) – 300m swim, 4.5km bike, 2.5km run 

Youth (Age 15-16) – 400m swim, 6km bike, 3km run
