If winning a prize is your thing, then you will love our Golden Apple hunt. Taking place every day 24 October – 1 November inclusive (except Monday & Tuesday when we’re closed), this is a chance to win a year’s family membership to the Garden, giving you the freedom to visit for free as much as you like during public opening over the coming year. Our Head Gardener knows the 20+ acres we look after like the back of his hand, so he’s got some excellent hiding places lined up. Be reassured that no special equipment is needed – the Golden Apple will be along publicly-accessible pathways and within easy-ish reach (use of a grown-up may be required!)

If fairies are your thing, then our brand new fairy door trail will be just your thing. Perfect for those who are magically inclined and with little legs and eagle eyes, this short trail around our Hidden Hollow will feature small but perfectly-formed places where magical creatures might live.

If rock painting is your thing, then you will probably like Roctober “Rocks for Remembrance” which we are hosting throughout this month. Along our Beech Walk we are lining up tens of beautiful handpainted rocks with a Remembrance theme which our visitors have painted. Every handpainted rock presented on arrival earns a free regular hot drink. For more details, click here.
