Description

Cheltenham Science Centre is a great place for families to get hands-on with all sorts of easy-to-access science experiments together.

During the 2022 Easter holidays, we are delighted to be hosting a local STEM volunteer on Wednesday 13th April. She will be bring activities suitable for 7-11 year olds: Turing Tumbles, Spheros and Probots. Due to funding from CyberFirstSchools, this event will be free and priority is being given to those families that need Free School Meals. Any remaining tickets will be available to book from 7am on Monday 4th April. You will need to book one free ticket per member of your group (adults and children).

For our other events, you will need to purchase one group ticket (£7.50 + 50p booking fee) in the usual way. There will be three sessions a day on Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th April:

  • 9:30-11:00 - LEGO WeDo: follow pictorial instructions to build and code solutions to problems with Lego (recommended age: 4+).

  • 10:30-1:00- ozobots: draw lines with pens to programme how our robots move (recommended age: 7+).

  • 2:00-3:30 - catapults: build a tower and then design a catapult to knock it down again! (recommended age: 4+)

At each session, you will also be able to explore most of our exhibits. This includes our vertical wind tunnel, the digital microscope and our infra-red camera.

Sessions are limited to 90 minutes to allow us to clear away and set up for the next session’s activities.

"We have had a lot of fun every time we visit, my boys love it as do my childminded children, all ages get something out of it (age range 2-10 years) and are always asking to go back.” Faye Brierley
