One word. SCORCHIO! This weekend's going to be hot, hot, hot. Here's a few ideas of things going on around town that you can get involved in..

It's great to see so many fun days and fayres on the list; low cost, all round entertainment for the whole family.

Saturday and Sunday

Along with more strawberries that you can shake a stick at, Primrose Vale PYO has a few raspberries joining the picking crop too this weekend. June + Sunshine = Strawberry Heaven. Find out more

New to this weekend's Movies for Juniors line-up is Peppas Pig's First Cinema Experience and staying on the bill from last week is Beauty and the Beast. Tickets on the door £2 but pre-booking recommended. Find out more

With the forecast looking so blimmin excellent, it's time for another nod to Pittville Park's Boathouse, renting boats (come rain or shine!) for exploring one of the Cotswold's most beautiful parks. Find out more

It's not too late to sign up to Maggie's Stroll in the Park taking place this Saturday. A gentle tour of Cheltenham's beautiful parks with a special quiz, all for a great local cause. Find out more

St Christopher's is holding a Family Fun Day with all activities free including bracelet making and a bouncy castle. Find out more

If you're heading to the Lido this weekend, you'll also be able to catch our wonderful, fantastic rescue services demostrating their techniques in Rescue Day. Expect demos, activities and rescue dogs. Under 16s go free. Find out more

The Fairview Community Day has a BBQ, inflatable fun for adults and kids and free face painting. Find out more

Especially for Father's Day weekend there's an engineering competition at Cheltenham Science Centre with some interstellar prizes. Find out more

There's a Summer Fayre at Bettridge School in Warden Hill with a bouncy castle, fire engine and ice cream van. Find out more

Sunday (Father's Day)

There's something pretty epic going on in Montpellier Gardens this Sunday... INTERNATIONAL PICNIC DAY The much-loved Garden Cafe will be expanding its menu to include Prosecco and strawberries and picnickers (is that a word?) can enjoy a choir in the bandstand, ukulele buskers, face painting and a circus entertainer. Don't forget there's free entry to the Jet Age Musuem where visitors can try and treasure hunt and climb aboard a real Vulcan bomber cockpit. Find out more

There are steam trains leaving Cheltenham Racecourse station almost hourly this weekend with return trips to Toddington costing £7 for kids and £16.50 for adults (under 5s free). There's a play area, cafe and museum in Toddington but the best part is the journey. Find out more

For the Grown Ups

It's not too late to grab tickets for Joseph and the Amazing Tecnicolor Dreamcoat at the Everyman this weekend. Joe McElderry suits-up for a star turn in a show that has been getting rave reviews. Book tickets via the Everyman website.

Saturday and Sunday: Cheltenham Open Studio - It's the last couple of days to explore Cheltenham Open Studios. 200 Cheltenham artists welcome you in to 73 venues around the town. This happens once every 2 years. Find out more

Out Of Town Highlights

Saturday 17th June: Just up the road in Hucclecote is the Hucclecote Show. A free family day out with a fun fair, dog show, dancing, live music and bouncy castles. Visit the Hucclecote Show website for more.

Saturday and Sunday: For a day out of epic proportions, head to the Three Counties Show in Malvern. There's so much going on from stalls to shows to a wellington boot exhibition(?). Tickets: Adults £23, Children £7, under 5s go free. Visit the Three Counties Show pages

Saturday and Sunday: If you're having Circus withdrawals since Giffords left town, Circus Funtasia is at the Royal Ag College until Sunday night. Tickets start at £10. Visit the Circus website for details and to book.
