15th - 16th July: What's On In Cheltenham This Weekend

Happy Friday folks. Whilst I'm still trying to work out the difference between fetes, fairs, fayres and fun days, one thing I'm sure off is that we're enjoying loads of them at the moment. There's lots of free events on this weekend plus a few low cost gems.

Saturday

There's dance demos, sweets, cakes, a BBQ and bouncy castle at the Coady Crew Summer Fun Day. Free entry. Find out more

Pop along to the Christ Church Summer Fete for entertainment from the Cheltenham Silver Band, Ukulele Band, Janet Marshall Dancers and Punch and Judy. Entry £1. Find out more

The traditional Andoversford Village Fete has old school family races, stalls, ice cream and strawberries this Saturday. Live music, historical re-enactments and the majorettes are on hand to entertain visitors. Free entry. Find out more

Sunday

There's a free fun for all the family at Crickley Hill's Go Wild event this Sunday with nature walks, welly wanging and historical re-enactments. Free entry. Find out more

The CTFC Open Day gives fans a chance to hop on the official team bus, meet the players, try the hot shot challenge or get involved in mini games. For litttle ones there's a bouncy castle. Free entry. Find out more

The wait is nearly over for the Crippetts Food and Drink Festival. 50 food and drink suppliers await to tantalise your tastebuds. Entry is just £1 (under 16s go free). Find out more

Saturday and Sunday ideas

Danter's Fun Fair is at Montpellier Gardens until Sunday. Opening from midday on Saturday and Sunday with a huge selection of rides for thrillseekers of all ages. Find out more

Fancy a spot of boating on Pittville Lake? Explore the beautiful lower lake in a pea green boat for around £10 an hour (boat for 5 people). Find out more

The Boss Baby is back on the Cineworld Movies for Juniors line-up. Discounted screenings this weekend are The Boss Baby and Kubo and the Two Strings. Find out more

If you're up for something a bit different, how about a trip on a stream train? Trains depart from Cheltenham Racecourse Station where there's free parking and plenty of old school charm. This weekend GWR are operating the red timetable. Find out more

For the Grown Ups

On Saturday the Frog and Fiddle is holding an adult Village Fete with apple bobbing, egg & spoon races, a coconut shy and ball pit! There's also a huge outdoor waterfight - don't forget your supersoakers! View the Facebook Event Page

Out Of Town Highlights

The World's Greatest Airshow comes to the Cotswolds once again. RAF Fairford's Air Tattoo runs from Friday to Sunday. Tickets are limited and can only be purchased online. Visit the Air Tattoo website

The Museum of Gloucester's Dinosaur Exhibition starts this Saturday and includes an immersive ‘Expedition Zone’ with sounds, smells and life-size models. Adults £5, Kids £3. Find out more on the City of Gloucester website
