A pub with a play area is the holy grail of outdoor summer socialising for parents who can enjoy a G&T, pint or soft drink in peace while the little ones are entertained.

There’s a lot for little ones to do at The House in the Tree, including a play area and a petting zoo with goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, and even a pig.

Tailors, Cambray Place GL50 1JS

You would be mistaken to think this town centre pub has no space for outdoor games or play equipment. Tailors have recently included garden games, such as Giant Jenga, Pool Table, Connect 4 and Darts. They also have a brilaint children's menu for under 12's - Worth a visit!

The Apple Tree, Woodmancote, GL52 9QG
The Apple Tree is the perfect stop for a pint and a bite to eat after a walk up Cleeve Hill. Keep kids entertained in the outside play area which has climbing equipment and rockers.

The Plough in Prestbury, Cheltenham GL52 3BG 
The play area at The Plough features two different sized wooden climbing houses with slides so there’s plenty to keep kids of all ages entertained, and there’s a boules pitch for adults. The pub also hosts regular family-friendly events with live music.

The Hungry Horse at Severn Springs is home of the Big Plate Special, some great dining deals and enormous desserts. Outside there are picnic tables and a duck pond, plus a play area with a climbing frame and slide.

In the garden of The London Inn you’ll find a slide and two junior swings, plus plenty of picnic tables. There are regular events, quizzes and live music and new for 2021 is a covered heated seating area and covered patio.

The Shutters Inn, Gotherington, GL52 9EZ
Kids will enjoy burning off some energy on the climbing frame, slide and swings that are in the enclosed garden of The Shutters Inn. The pub has an extensive children’s menu and is also open for breakfast making it ideal for morning meet ups.

The Swan at Coombe Hill, Tewkesbury Road, GL19 4BA

The Swan boasts an impressibe 2 acre garden with swings and raised walk ways for your little one's to play on whilst you sit back and relax watching the panoramic views. They pride themselves on being a family friendly pub/restaurant with a separate children's menu. Alternatively, if your child would like to eat from the main menu, they are happy to adapt most of their a la carte dishes.

The Plough Inn, Ford, GL54 5RU
If you fancy a short drive out to the Cotswolds, The Plough Inn is located in the picture-perfect setting of Temple Guiting and has a great outside play area for children. The pub is known for its fantastic food, especially the Sunday lunch, and has a dedicated kids’ menu.

Ye Olde Hobnails Inn, Little Washbourne, GL20 8NQ
It's well worth a trip out of town to this Grade ll Listed building, full of charming character with open beams and a welcoming log fire. Outside there is a large garden opening up to the beautiful countryside, plus a zip wire for the kids!

The Colesbourne Inn, GL53 9NP

Okay, so The Colesbounre Inn may not have a playground as such, however it felt right to have this on the list. Just take a look at this increible space for your children to run, be free, use their imaginations and let off some steam, all within this beautiful Cotswold setting. Sometimes we want to get out-out of Cheltenham and we think this little, wide open spaced gem could be the answer. Note that this is also a dog friendlt pub therefore our four legged friends are also welcome to use this space.
